Why you should apply: The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is a professional public safety agency made up of dedicated professionals who work hard to improve the quality of life as well as prevent the unnecessary loss of life on a daily basis.
This is what you will do: You will provide operational and maintenance support of the WSP statewide data network and connections to other public safety federal, state, and local systems. This position normally will be working with a higher level network staff person who will have the responsibility for methods, documentation, and task completion. This position must work closely with Information Technology Division technical and project staff.
This is who you will work with: In this position you will work closely with peers, other IT Specialists, vendors and Project Managers, law enforcement officers and other WSP employees, including division and agency command staff, on a daily basis, providing direct technical support. In addition you will work with outside agency technical personnel.
This position may be required to travel as part of their work to access various work settings including data centers and remote communications sites. Travel includes typical rural and urban environments and may require 4 wheel drive utilization.
High school completion or GED equivalent Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
Two year Associate of Arts degree
- One year of IT Technical course work or military work in IP networking Supplemental Information
