TEKsystems Medical Assistant in Spokane, Washington

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth patient flow and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities:

  • Rooming Patients: Escort patients to examination rooms, take vital signs, and ensure they are comfortable.

  • EPIC Charting: Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record system (EPIC).

  • Administrative Paperwork: Assist physicians with paperwork, including referrals, prescriptions, and medical forms.

  • Answering Phones: Handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries.

  • Scheduling Appointments: Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals.

  • Healthcare Experience: Apply your knowledge of medical terminology and procedures to support patient care.

  • Strong Scheduling Skills: Efficiently manage appointment schedules and optimize patient flow.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accurate documentation and follow protocols.

  • Surgery Scheduling: Familiarity with surgery scheduling processes is a plus.

  • Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Medical Assisting Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a medical office setting.

  • MA-C Licensure: Valid Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) license from the Washington State Department of Health (WA DOH).

  • BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • EPIC or Nextgen Familiarity: Experience with EPIC or Nextgen electronic health record systems preferred.

  • Excellent Customer Service: Compassionate and patient-focused communication skills.

  • Workload Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
