Tableau’s Enterprise Applications (EA) team designs, implements and supports the systems that power our rapidly growing company operations. Within EA, the Customer Retention team delivers features that enable a seamless post purchase customer journey. We need an exceptional Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will effectively partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define and drive initiatives that ensure seamless customer engagement, support customers in utilizing our products and deliver world class conferences and events.

As a member of the Customer Retention team, you’ll lead large organization-wide projects and programs, build processes, tools and metrics, and devise solutions that scale our business. You will help the business understand their requirements in terms of systems and workflows. This role requires you to be an experienced planner, business analyst, project manager and flexible thinker who can balance multiple objectives at once. Successful applicants have excellent leadership skills, the ability to disambiguate complex business requirements, strong technical expertise, and a proven track record of delivering results.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include…

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and thoroughly understand their business processes and challenges.

  • Run complex projects/programs through the complete project lifecycle

  • Own critical business systems and relationships with key stakeholders

  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership

  • Define resources and schedule for project/program implementation

  • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning

  • Devise and implement metrics and then measure success against them

  • Direct and oversees project engineering and third party deliverables

  • Identify and resolve program issues

  • Design and maintain technical and project documentation

  • Propose solutions based on gathered requirements

  • Develop Requests for Proposals (RFP) for external services

  • Guide testing, implementation and escalation support for critical systems

Who you are... *LI-BF1

  • Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Technical Program/Project Management.

  • 5+ years’ experience facilitating solutions between business and technical teams.

  • Nice to Have: Experience with cloud based applications like Salesforce.com (SFDC), Netsuite, Flexera, Single Sign on Systems, or Data Warehousing

  • Technical. Familiarity with cloud-based systems. Demonstrated understanding of how to maximize return on technology investments with native functionality vs custom code. Ability to work with a team that uses the Cloud as the Platform and designs systems and build functionality to get results.

  • Knowledge. SDLC: Extensive hands on experience with agile, waterfall and blended approaches.

  • Driver. You enjoy taking on challenging, multi-faceted initiatives and coordinating stakeholder and team members in the pursuit of high quality, on time project delivery.

  • Team Player. Understands the importance of building strong working relationships.

  • Builder . Equally comfortable digging into business requirements and product planning, as drilling into architecture with development teams.

  • Performer . Proven track record of delivery.

  • Problem Solver. Ability to juggle multiple priorities and can problem solve on the fly.

  • Educated. Bachelors or Master's degree in related fields.
