Job DescriptionAmazon is seeking an experienced Tax Integration Senior Manager to join its direct tax compliance and reporting team. The Amazon tax department is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment. The Tax Integration Senior Manager will lead teams drawn from other tax disciplines to integrate and transform tax processes. The candidate will simplify, standardize, integrate, and automate processes owned by the US Reporting and Compliance team, the US Outbound team, the Foreign Reporting and Compliance team, the Tax Provision team, and the Accounting team. This individual must be an outstanding developer of processes and have broad experience in order to see opportunities to leverage processes of different teams. The Tax Integration Senior Manager needs a deep accounting background. Having a deep knowledge of accounting systems will allow the Tax Integration Senior Manager to see opportunities to better leverage existing data, and to recommend changes to Accounting that will provide cleaner, more granular data. This role will operate with independence and be expected to demonstrate a high level of collegiality. Primary duties include: * Drive process improvements; enable streamlining to achieve operational efficiencies, benchmarking, and development of performance metrics. * Identify and operationalize efficiencies between US tax reporting for Foreign entities and Foreign STAT and tax reporting. * Identify and operationalize efficiencies between GAAP and STAT reporting. * Integrate the processes for US tax reporting and foreign tax reporting for leased assets under new US accounting rules. * Assist in the transition of work to our Tax team in Bangalore, India. Integrate the processes of that team so they can effectively work across teams. * Propose tax efficiencies that can be achieved by restructuring or adding new general ledger accounts. * Support new business launches by identifying tax requirements and develop a plan to remediate technical debt. * Lead the documentation of processes with an emphasis on documenting the control environment. * Special projects as needed. Basic Qualifications* BS/BA degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. * 15+ years of income tax compliance and reporting experience in a Big 4 CPA firm and/or combination with industry experience in a multinational corporate environment. Preferred Qualifications* CPA and/or MST preferred Strong computer skills: Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, Cognos, and Corptax are a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline driven, dynamic environment. * Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and interface with all levels of management, internal personnel across the organization, external advisors and auditors. * Strong operational income tax experience including management and preparation of US and Foreign income tax compliance and reporting obligations for a US multinational organization. * Must be willing to work in Seattle.
