If you’re a curious learner who has a penchant for getting things done, thrives on facilitating collaboration and has a wealth of Agile know-how, we want you to join our tech team!* The Distribution Integration platforms within Digital & Distribution IT *is looking for a Scrum Master II responsible for facilitating the scrum process. This will include coaching team members, proactively eliminating barriers, and addressing challenges to team delivery on sprint goals. The Scrum Master works closely with the Product Owner to support release planning; fosters team decision making; encourages cross-training and team support.

This role reports to an* IT Application Development Manager within the Insurance Professional Services Portfolio, * with a focus on Knowledge Management and Content Strategy * . *

In this role, you would:

  • Guide multiple scrum teams on how to use scrum and Agile practices and methodology

  • Oversee scrum process and coaches multiple teams; facilitates transparency, inspection, and adaption

  • Lead daily scrum, sprint review, and planning meetings to ensure full team engagement. Manages interdependencies between agile teams

  • Work with the Product Owner to support short and long-term release planning, and to keep work backlog healthy and prepared for execution

  • Shield the team from external interference to enable optimal functionality and productivity

  • Anticipate and addresses potential or actual impediments to team delivery (cultural barriers, logistic challenges)

  • Foster close cooperation across all team members; encourages cross-training and team support

  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems may be raised without fear of reprisal

  • Administer metrics tracking and other duties on behalf of multiple teams

  • Mentor and coach junior Scrum Masters.

This role might be for you if you:

  • Understand software development and relevant domains/products/journeys typically acquired through a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least eight, typically ten or more years related experience as a project team member, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Scrum certification strongly preferred.

  • Have extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards

  • Are able to coach a team and stakeholders on Agile practices and ensure adherence to Agile methodology

  • Enjoy solving problems and are able to resolve conflicts through strong mediation skills.

  • Communicate clearly and have the ability to deliver complex messages and teach new concepts.

  • You enjoy coaching and mentoring a team to maximize progress and potential

  • Are motivated and driven, and have the ability to influence and drive teams to success using Agile/scrum/Lean practices
