Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Medical Staff Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Medical Staff Services at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the medical staff organization’s meeting structure, including the campus councils, general staff meetings, all medical staff clinical departments and assigned committees.

In this position you will:

  • Maintain confidentiality of all matters relating to the operation of medical staff management and its records of proceedings.

  • Assist Chiefs and Chairs in the facilitation of their respective meetings.

  • Prepare agendas and supporting documentation, consulting with chiefs and chairs.

  • Oversee preparation and distribution of materials, which includes electronic data systems.

  • Maintain knowledge of current regulatory Medical Staff Standards and acts as a resource to Medical Staff officers and Medical Directors.

  • Advise department chiefs and committee chairs of needed information, research issues and propose solutions.

  • With guidance from the Manager, oversee and direct the daily activity of the office staff, including establishing priorities, and coordinating assistance provided to other office personnel.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma/GED.

  • Two to five years’ experience as medical staff services professional in an acute care hospital medical staff office.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate Degree or some college credit preferred in a related field of study or equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Current Certification by NAMSS (National Association Medical Staff Services) as CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management).

  • Proficiency using Word and PowerPoint programs and medical staff database.

  • Experience supervising a staff.
