Amazon Finance Manager, Advertising Finance in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon Advertising seeks a Finance Manager to collaborate with the product team in charge of driving growth of the Measurement, Ad Tech, and Data Science (MADS) program.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build and evaluate business cases as we seek to maximize long-term free cash flow

  • Lead analytical projects influencing the business

  • Report and maintain financial metrics that evolve with the business. Build for scale and work to automate processes and reporting

  • Provide financial insights for recurring business reviews with key stakeholders

  • Uphold and enforce an environment of strong financial controllership

  • Provide visibility into key performance and operational efficiency metrics

A day in the life

We are looking for a motivated candidate who has operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and has the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of analyses. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with business teams to help execute and shape product strategy.

About the team

If you enjoy using analytical skills to shape strategy and build new initiatives from concept to full-scale operations this will be a good match. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to develop deep industry understanding, create key performance indicators, analyze monetization strategies to maximize revenue, and provide valuation guidance for feature roadmap prioritization and decision-making. This position will collaborate with business leaders on a daily basis and will be contributing to overall financial modeling and analysis during requirements planning, business reviews, and providing business insights into key initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience

  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
