Capgemini Design Validation Test Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Title: Design Validation Test Engineer

Location: Redmond WA

Duration: Full Time

Position Description:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design / build and lead intermediate level pneumatic and electromechanical fixture as well as robotic testing.

  • Perform and lead complex test development and execution – fixtures/test/analysis and reports on components, sub-systems up to ME-DVT project lead.

  • Add clarity to issues and provide guidance to resolution.

  • Lead multiple subject matter discussions across orgs.

  • Lead or participate in intermediate level bug/failure analyses and drives to resolution across orgs.

  • Zero to 10% travel.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years relevant technical engineering experience or BS/MS degree in Mechanical, Materials, Reliability, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 5 years of relevant technical engineering experience

  • 5 years of work experience in the consumer electronic industry including product quality, reliability, or manufacturing test.

  • Demonstrated experience as natural leader of a cross functional team with strong electromechanical test skills.

  • Deep understanding of the physics of failure and root cause analysis.

  • Ability to analyze data sets and extract the essence and use the data to make data driven decisions.

Additional Preferred Qualifications :

  • Direct experience in mechanical testing of consumer electronics.

  • Experience with Fanuc robot programming, DIC, High Speed DIC, instrumentation and Creo

  • Practical knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, CLCA, SPC, Pareto charts, FMEA, GR&R, FAI, CPK, PPAP etc.

  • Use and apply statistics to evaluate product reliability and highlight potential product risks – Six Sigma Greenbelt is a plus
