Microsoft Stores HR is seeking a Senior HR Manager with strong business acumen to support the Digital Stores, Merchandising and Strategy teams. This role will be a member of the Microsoft Stores HR team, and will influence the people programs and products to support and engage approximately 250 team members spanning multiple countries.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of HR strategies and successfully execute against the HR plan of record.

  • Successfully drive HR in the business day to day, including Performance Management, Career Development, Talent Management and more, and use these practices as a platform for further influencing and enabling the broader people strategy work throughout the organization.

  • Understand business strategy and priorities, and guide organization and job design to anticipate and meet the business needs.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Talent Management to drive the strategy for identifying and acquiring new sets of skills and capabilities, and to create and manage sustainable succession plans

  • Partner with and coach managers and leaders to facilitate organizational and cultural change.

  • Educate the business on people trends and impact to broader strategy work

  • Engage deeply with leaders and employees to help shape desired culture, including a diverse & inclusive environment. Proactively identify challenges and build effective, scalable, and lasting solutions.

  • Drive initiatives for building and improving organizational health.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Stores HR leadership team and will be expected to contribute to HR projects outside of day-to-day responsibilities, in an effort to build and drive the HR strategy, and support the HR team.


Qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 8 years of directly applicable HR experience.

  • A BS/BA in Human Resources, Business or related field is preferred.

  • Digital/ online HR experience is an advantage, in order to understand and manage the nuances in building and executing programs, and driving the culture for a consumer focused business

  • Demonstrated competence in supporting and facilitating the day-to-day HR practices for a diverse and international population: employee relations, organizational design and development, coaching, learning and development and an understanding of compensation and benefits.

  • The ability to deal effectively with ambiguity, recognize trends, and identify systemic approaches to solving problems in this fast-moving, constantly changing environment is imperative.

  • Experience working with supporting senior executives and multi-client groups required.

  • Global perspective and experience in running global initiatives International scope/scale experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must have demonstrated competency in business acumen, consulting, systems thinking, analytics, job design and project management in a human resources role and structure.

  • 10-15% expected travel
