Microsoft Corporation Senior Finance Manager in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft Consumer Sales Organization (CSO) works across all Microsoft products and services sold to Consumers, under two Microsoft Solution Areas: Gaming covering Xbox Hardware and Services and Devices and Creativity covering Surface, Office and Windows. The CSO team partners with internal and external customers alike with the goal of maximizing revenue, market share, and mutual profit ensuring the highest ethics and compliance in any action.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, collaborative professional to join our Consumer Sales Organization (CSO) Controllership Team as a Senior Finance Manager to support the CSO World Wide (WW) Sales Operations leadership and CSO Finance team in managing the Profit and Loss (P&L). This covers a wide range of responsibilities which includes financial modeling, business analysis, business partnership, rhythm of business management, and the creation and ownership of supporting efficient financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create financial models and frameworks to evaluate financial impacts and Return on Investment (ROI) on marketing and headcount investment opportunities.

  • Drive the consolidation of business outcomes for P&L bringing together the Gaming and Devices and Creativity views into a single CSO view

  • Collaborate with finance, business planning and marketing teams to understand industry trends and implement those business insights into our ecosystem.

  • Land process improvements through positive partnerships and clear business understanding

  • Assist in the execution and consolidation of Rhythm of Business (ROB) including month end close, forecast, budget and Long Range Planning. Drive a cohesive spend narrative around Revenue Adjustments, Costs of Goods Sold (COGS), and Operating Expenses (OPEX)

  • Leverages best-in-class technology (e.g., Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics etc.) to accomplish goals. Improves current methods used in collecting data, developing automated financial reporting and forecasting tools, and creating standard and ad-hoc reports. Learns how advanced technology is implemented in Finance and across Microsoft to provide greater depth of analysis.

  • Communicates results in a logical, compelling, and understandable message

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, legal standards, and both regulatory and statutory reporting requirements by reviewing and monitoring accuracy of financial documents and control processes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experience

  • OR Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Ability to simplify complex data into executive story telling

  • Process management skills with impeccable attention to detail and accuracy

Controllership IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
