The Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Finance Manager to help shape the future of our cloud products. The team’s charter is to build out end to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team you’ll also support long term bets and drive competitive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition. All while enhancing transparency into Cloud Infrastructure investments, safeguarding shareholder interest.

Responsibilities

Our team provides financial oversight to inform Microsoft’s global portfolio decisions; enable end to end cloud infrastructure planning and strategy; ensure supply chain operations are at optimal levels to name a few things!

We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager who will work closely with leaders in engineering, data center operations, supply planning and supply chain execution to understand, define and manage server decommission lifecycle planning. This is a rare finance opportunity to gain broad visibility into the operational and business aspects of Microsoft’s cloud business and contribute towards its success.

This role is a great opportunity to:

  • Look at the end to end supply chain flow from demand planning to server decommission

  • Help define the lifecycle management to meet server supportability

  • Ensure adequate investments and system capability are needed to meet growing server fleets to be decommissioned

  • Partner with the supply chain, engineering, and data center operations to identify cost saving opportunities and drive long term strategic direction

  • Build process to ensure proper financial/operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to manage server decom lifecycle (end to end decommission cycle time targets, workload migration, logical decom, and physical decom), track actual server decom forecast/actuals, track replacement capex forecast/actuals)

  • Own financial deliverables associated with month-end close, forecasting, annual planning, and financial reviews with business partners/accounting

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial modeling and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Business acumen and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities

  • Excellent communication, cross group collaboration and interpersonal skills

  • Proven program management, process change and process management skills

  • Demonstrated experience in working with large amount of data, transforming it into insights

  • Experience in supply chain and/or inventory management in cloud infrastructure related field a plus

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
