As a Principal Product Manager, you will be driving key initiatives around Customer’s experiences while managing their Azure workload resiliency and optimization by following Microsoft’s Well architected framework guidelines.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Product Manager on our team you will have a direct and clear impact on our products and customers.  In this role, you will work closely with talented Engineering and Data Science teams, collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across Azure, and have the opportunity to design, deliver, and iterate on new tools, applications, and Azure features. Our work has high visibility with the Azure leadership team and ample opportunities to share our successes and receive support and guidance from them. The scope of responsibilities includes: 

  • Creating product/feature specifications with visual and written designs 

  • Partnering with our engineering teams in all phases of development as a subject matter expert on feature design and user experience that focuses on privacy compliance and excellence

  • Providing hands-on program management during various phases of our projects, including day-to-day contributions as part of agile development practices

  • Measuring the success of the product through relevant metrics and KPIs 

  • Developing product roadmaps and strategy 

  • Listening to customers (internal and external) to understand their scenarios and challenges 

  • Engaging with partner teams across Azure and Microsoft to drive alignment on dependencies

Qualifications

Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of experience using data to drive prioritization and measure progress 

  • 8+ years of technical experience with technologies such as cloud computing environments, logical access control, agile development processes, secure coding principles  

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Ability to lead through ambiguity while partnering across organizations 

  • Ability to come up-to-speed quickly on a new technical domain 

  • Experience expressing designs visually and partnering with UX designers to deliver delightful user experiences

  • Experience working closely with customers and engineers to rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions

  • Experience with Github/Gitlab or Azure DevOps 

  • Experience with building services on Azure or other cloud services 

  • Experience with some data analytics and related technologies, including Kusto (Azure Data Explorer), SQL, ETL technologies, machine learning (ML), and PowerBI

  • Ability to translate customer requirements and scenarios into features, including writing software specifications with user experiences

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
