Volt Workforce Solutions in partnership with a Puyallup based producer of components and assemblies is in search of a Machinist to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic part/fits, and assemble machined parts into complete units

  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements

  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining

  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapers

  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle cut or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media

  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or controls media as required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Previous experience working with Vertical Cells and Machining with tolerances required

  • Experience running multiple parts at one time

  • Lift or move up to 15 lbs. constantly and 25lbs-50lbs frequently

  • Working knowledge of blueprints, mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, machine centers, surface plates, fixtures, pallet jacks, cutting fluid and other related tools
