TECHNICAL WRITER II (Ref. #1776) (AG)

MRC seeks a Full-Time Technical Writer to develop, revise, distribute, and maintain custody of Emergency Action Plans (EAP), Quality System Documents (QSD), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Depot Level Procedures and other technical documentation, as identified by the government, concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operations, and maintenance of torpedoes and related components. This writer may also provide administrative and technical support to the torpedo IMA and Depot in support of the Torpedo Certification Examining Board (TCEB) Audits. Upon request, this writer may create draft Explosive Mishap Reports or Conventional Ordnance Deficiency Reports on explosive accidents/incidents; may prepare and maintain site diagrams of explosive operating buildings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Good customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Torpedoes

  • Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings/parts lists

  • Previous experience working with military/DOD documents (SOP’s & Tech Manuals).
