CCSWW Housing Placement-Leasing Specialist – Rapid Rehousing-Everett/Snohomish Co. in Everett, Washington

Initial goal of the Rapid Re-housing program is for the individual or family to be quickly re-housed and stabilized with the end result being the individual or family paying rent on their own. Supportive services in the program may include: Graduated rental assistance and deposits, assistance with housing search, applying for housing subsidies and assistance overcoming barriers to accessing affordable housing.

Incumbent is responsible for recruitment of landlords to provide housing opportunities for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Address potential barriers to landlord participation such as concern about short term nature of rental assistance and tenant qualifications. Assist RRH clients to find and secure appropriate rental housing. Advocate for clients to open up opportunities and housing options. Coordinate and facilitate move-in requirements (i.e., lease, move in costs, deposits, utility assistance, etc.) to move individuals and families into housing and out of homelessness. Works collaboratively with Rapid Re-Housing Staff who will case manage the clients.

This position is F/T, 37.5 hours per week.

Pay is $16.91 - $17.76/hr. DOE/Education, plus excellent holiday / vacation / sick pay and health benefits!

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build rapport with clients, building an understanding of what the client wants to achieve for housing.

  • Conduct client intake, and help client develop their Action Service Plan (ASP) for Housing Domain, and needed steps to achieve housing.

  • Based on intake and client’s ASP, conduct assertive outreach to produce housing options for client focusing on options that will help the client succeed.

  • Collect all needed documents to move ahead on housing options.

  • Assertively engage clients in the application process for specific units/houses.

  • Work closely with client, having weekly contact, in order to get client housed in 30 days.

  • Works collaboratively with landlords to handle and solve tenant / landlord issues.

  • Ensure that client’s plan meets social, health, emotional and economic needs to maintain housing and achieve self-sufficiency.

  • Coordinates all work with Rapid Re-Housing staff assigned to case manage client; especially when an employment referral is needed as soon as possible.

  • Uses technology including computerized databases and hard copy files to maintain, update, and report on case data, goal attainment, and outcomes in a timely manner.

  • Track and report client progress through service plans, narratives and in HMIS.

  • Attend community and other program related meetings as required; and to nurture and develop good working relationship with community landlords.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

  • HMIS – Incumbent is expected to develop proficiency in maintaining accurate client records in HMIS, the client tracking software application used by programs throughout the agency. Proficiency includes entry of data into the client record, the editing of information as needed, and the printing of reports within HMIS.

MINIMUM:

  • B.A., plus one year administrative or property management experience Or 5 years administrative or property management experience may substitute for B.A. or a combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of housing systems within Snohomish County & experience securing housing for clients and/or like experiences in other communities.

  • Reliable Transportation, current WA State Driver’s License & proof of current automobile insurance.

  • Proof of acceptable driving record (Driving Abstract-Complete Full driving record).

  • Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, Community partners and professionals.

  • Requires time management and interpersonal skills.
