Ford Motor Company Software Engineer in Bellevue, Washington

The Ford Pro Telematics team is looking for strong Data Engineers to utilize large-scale data and help Ford engineers to design and validate the most compelling and reliable customer. The team collects real-time data from fleets of vehicles to develop pipelines and software.

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Design, code, test, correct and document programs and scripts using agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result

  • Derive an overall strategy of data management, within an established information architecture that supports the development and secure operation of existing and new digital services

  • Plan effective data storage, security, sharing and publishing within the organization

  • Gathers and processes raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using batch and real-time data processing frameworks

  • Ensures data quality and implements tools and frameworks for automating the identification of data quality issues

  • Collaborate with internal and external data providers on data validation providing feedback and making customized changes to data feeds and data mappings

  • Mentor and lead data engineers providing technical guidance and oversight

  • Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products

Minimum Requirements we seek:

  • 5 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or related degree or 2 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, PhD)

  • Expertise in at least two of the following general purpose programming languages: Java/Go/Scala/Python/JavaScript

  • 1 years' experience building highly available and fault tolerant distributed systems

  • 2 years' experience designing data architecture for multiple database models such as Relational DBMS, Document, Columnar and Key-Value Data Stores

  • 1 years' experience working with Stream processing Systems such as Storm, Spark-Streaming and Kafka Streams.

  • 5 years' experience writing code in multiple programming language paradigms such as Object-Oriented and Functional Programming Languages

Our Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • 5 years' experience developing products using extreme agile/ pair/mobbed programming in a test-driven development (TDD).

  • 3 years' experience using advanced software configuration management (source control, DevOps, continuous integration/continuous deployment, etc.)

  • 2 years' experience with any of the ETL, data integration products or any industrial data service.

  • 3 years' experience working in Unix/Linux environments, Open-source technologies, client-server apps

  • 3+ years of Bigdata development experience on one or more cloud Platforms. GCP is plus.

This position is a salary grade 8.
