As a member of the Amazon Air team, the Senior Program Manager, Cargo Management, will be responsible to develop and execute new processes, policies, goals, and long-term solutions that increase scalability, streamline operations, reduce errors, decrease costs, and improve the company’s overall air transportation program. This position will communicate with external vendors, managers, peers, and team members, both within the team, as well as with other departments and business partners to drive effective solutions to complex challenges. The Senior Program Manager will work cross-functionally to implement solutions that effectively exceed targets.

Key job responsibilities

  • Anticipate business needs, looking around corners, and identifying and mitigating risks to solve problems

  • Represent Amazon Air with partners and working across all relevant cross-functional areas to guarantee effective communication, implementation, and execution of objectives

  • Work cross-functionally, navigating through ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability, and delivering on commitments

  • Manage multiple project assignments that continuously improve customers’ experience and develop best in class air cargo capabilities

  • Use analytical tools to dive deep and constantly stay in touch with the details of the business

  • Domestic travel required up to 10% of the time

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • Experience in air cargo compliance and training

  • Experience in scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
