The Advertising Trust & Safety Team plays a key role in protecting users, advertisers, and publishers for Microsoft Advertising in support of Search, Display and Native advertising through ad and traffic policy strategies, ecosystem quality, and safety solutions. We are currently seeking a Senior Policy Program Manager with a strategic mindset to join the Microsoft Advertising Trust & Safety Team. This role will operate at the advertising policy forefront of our organization, driving best practices in policy and risk mitigation, resolving user and brand safety scenarios, and identifying opportunities for growth. This position will work directly with key stakeholders in sales, customers, and engineering, and will be responsible for managing the quality and policy process, including policy education, communications, external engagement, improvement and optimization projects, and a deep understanding of our advertiser and product policies with a specific focus on global policy application and expertise. The successful candidate will ensure that teams understand the purpose, application, and enforcement of policies, and that customers comprehend how policies will be applied to them, driving balanced opportunity assessments to create new business while limiting risk. Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence policy strategy discussions, provide thought leadership and recommendations on our policy position and set expectations on impacts to the business.

  • Anticipate and support industry and regulatory impacts to our business and lead policy strategy to ensure sustainable revenue and industry position.

  • Support and represent the quality story with our stakeholders and customers. Drive comprehension of issue trends and compliance remedy needs.

  • Manage direct relationships with sales, business development and other partners to effectively drive awareness and understanding of the policies so that they can communicate policy expectations. Set and review policy and quality requirements for external publishing.

  • Contribute to policy change management processes, go-to-market, and marketplace management strategy. Partner with stakeholder teams to coordinate policy enforcement and communications.

  • Partner with engineering and sales on policy roadmap, including the intake of net new policy requests, new partner considerations, and policy modification/evolution.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field AND 4+ years experience in technical program/product management, coding, software development/delivery work

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of customer-facing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of search, display and native advertising experience.

  • 5+ years of previous experience in policy/regulatory or risk management (public or commercial)

  • 5+ years in the online industry with experience in high-volume and global operational best practices.

  • 5+ years project, program and/or online digital media policy expertise.

  • Building programs that support strategic customer and account manager engagement to offer policy insights and best practices while balancing our business requirements.

  • 5+ Years of previous experience in at least two or more of the following areas: policy/regulatory or risk management (public or commercial), management consulting, online business, media/advertising, and analytics and research.

  • 3+ years of search, display and/or native advertising experience or working in a technical support/technical organization, preferably in the online industry for a high-volume commercial website or service.

  • 3+ years project, program and/or online digital media policy expertise.

  • Experience partnering with sales, client services & support, legal, marketing, technology teams and other functions as appropriate.

Customer Solutions Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
