The busser is responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of the dining area which includes setting tables, clearing tables, restocking plates and sometimes serving food to guests as runners. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: • Maintains a clean an professional appearance; • Maintain a friendly and courteous attitude • Prepares or assists with preparation of hot and cold drinks or snacks for serving; • Sets tables for meal service within an acceptable time frame; • Removes glassware, plates, silverware, napkins, etc. from tables after meals; • Carries dirty dishes from dining room to kitchen; • Wipes table tops and chairs with damp cloth. Promptly cleans customer spills, and disposes of trash and garbage; • Replaces soiled table linens and sets tables with silverware and glassware; • Replenishes supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes in dining room; • Supplies service bar with food such as soups, salads, and desserts; • Serves ice water to patrons if needed; • Sweeps and mops floors to maintain a clean atmosphere; • Ensures condiment trays, salt, pepper and other food flavorings set or left on tables are wiped clean and are filled appropriately. Returns all vessels needing refilling to kitchen; • Makes sure daily side work is completed • Other duties may be assigned.
